Church Staff
It takes a village.
In order to keep a church running, it takes a whole congregation! Also, we have a few people on the church’s payroll who help keep the wheels turning.
The Reverend Scott J. Anderson
Pastor | pastorscott@sotvchurch.com
The Reverend Scott Anderson is a native Buckeye, born and raised in Canton, Ohio. Like his father, he graduated from The Ohio State University in engineering. Before becoming a pastor, his first vocation lasted twelve years in the space program: two at the Kennedy Space Center and ten with NASA at the Johnson Space Center. While at NASA, Pastor Scott earned his master’s degree from The University of Houston. In Baytown, Texas, he met his wife Charlotte in community theater. They were married at St. Paul Lutheran in Baytown in 1981. They both went to Trinity Lutheran Seminary in the early 1990s. Pastor Scott has had five calls in 23 years as a pastor in Ohio, Texas, and Nebraska. Sadly, he is recently a widower. Pastor Scott has two grown children: Sgt. Christian Anderson, an army medic at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and Catherine Anderson, who works at VIVA! Dance Studio in Cleveland. Pastor Scott is also blessed with three wonderful grandchildren. For recreation, he enjoys music (notably playing the clarinet and singing), reading, theater, sports, being with his three cats, and hiking the trails in the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountains.

Mary Drotleff
Church Secretary | info@sotvchurch.com
Mary Drotleff became the secretary at Shepherd of the Valley in early 2018. She was born into the Lutheran faith, and worshiped in a very small Lutheran church, North Industry Lutheran Church. That church became the current Peace Lutheran in Canton, Ohio. She is married with a son and daughter-in-law, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She works with our outreach ministry, Shepherd’s Kitchen, cooking meals that we provide to our shut-ins and the local community. She enjoys watching home improvement shows with her better half, Fred, and applying what they learn to projects around their home. They share their home with their feline daughter, Lucy Mae.

Susan Kaschak
Musician
Susan Kaschak has enjoyed being a part of worship and music at SOTV ever since becoming a member in October 2009. She formed the Adult Choir in November 2009 and is proud to serve as the Choir Director. In January 2010 she assumed the role as Chairperson of the Worship and Music Committee. Susan serves as the musician for our worship services. She also enjoys being a part of Shepherd’s Kitchen, which prepares and delivers meals to local shut-ins, and the Quilting Group that sews and sends quilts to people around the world through Lutheran World Relief.
